‘I couldn’t think of a better place to spend my 50th birthday with my family. We could have easily spent a week there. We will be back. Julian and Enrica thought of everything. They both provided exemplary service both ahead of time and during our trip. Julian even provided me with great restaurants to enjoy a meal on my birthday. The apartment is in an ideal neighborhood. Just know, you don’t have to go far to get an excellent meal, enjoy a neighborhood fish and fruit market, a spectacular coffee, or afternoon aperitif. We traveled as a family of five, two couples and one child. Everyone enjoyed comfortable beds with soft crisp sheets, warm heavy blankets and soft luxurious towels. The two modern bathrooms are ideal for two adult couples. There was enough room for all of us to have a space to relax when we needed quiet time. Two of us were in the kitchen playing cards. Two were in the courtyard drinking Limoncello and discussing world peace, while one chose to enjoy a newspaper in a lush deep leather chair. We frequently had drinks and coffee on the patio with the birds and listening to church bells. There was enough equipment to cook for ourselves, but our stay was too short to warrant the shopping expense. My favorite part about Venice was the sounds. Church bells, children laughing, a soft purring boat motor at the end of our street as someone is coming home from work. What you don’t hear – car horns, sirens, leaf blowers, or shouting. The food is outstanding almost everywhere, just like the rest of Italy. Local specialties are fun to try if you are a seafood lover like me. We opted to splurge for a water taxi one day, rather than a gondola. It was half the price and so much fun. We spent the whole day walking Venice to its far reaches, content with the knowledge our feet would rest on the way back. Don’t hesitate, book your stay.’

‘Simply incredible. We chose this home because of the pictures and wonderful description Julian provided. Upon seeing it in person, neither words nor pictures captured its true beauty and feel. It was home from the first moment, welcoming us with such incredible furnishings and attention to detail. It was the perfect Venice base for our family of five (kids 15, 12, 10). The kids loved coming back to it each day after touring and getting lost. Absolutely loved the neighborhood and the Campo. Really can’t say enough great things about this home. I’ll leave it at my wife wants to live here.’

‘What a cool place. I wish I lived here. Definitely a smart ‘Brooklyn’ vibe; I’ve never seen a giant rolling oak door in Venice before! The warm floor tiles are pretty great too. We sat outside and drank wine from the place that fills up your plastic bottles (there are two, but we liked the guy just down Calle Lunga before the white church) and when it started getting chilly, came in and danced around in our socks. Mattresses all super comfy. The only people who come down Degolin are the neighbours or people who are lost; it’s nice to leave the windows open and listen to the footsteps every now and then. And the bells! We recommend Profeta up the street for pizza, Campo Margherita for everything else. Rialto for spritz (best drinking view in the world) – get the plastic cups and sit by the canal. Great holiday, we’ll be back! Cheers.’

‘Super séjour chez Julian. L’appartement est très confortable, vraiment joli, calme et accueillant. Bien équipé pour cuisiner, la literie est top, les couvertures aussi et le chauffage est parfait pour un séjour en novembre. C’est un endroit où on aimerait passer du temps à travailler tranquillement… On s’y sent bien.

‘The perfect holiday in the perfect apartment in the best part of Venice. We have been to this amazing city lots of times, and finally we’ve found our home. Julian’s flat is cozy, quiet and chic. Old wood, brick and a wonderfully weird array of antiques and books. Very stylish, which is ususual for Venice. The bathrooms are bright and new (in fact everything feels freshly renovated) the underfloor heating makes waking up an absolute pleasure, and the backyard is a haven of peace. Lots of places on AirBnB say they will make you feel like you’re living in Venice. This place really does. I recommend an evening in, home-made pasta in the kitchen, served through the window to the table in the backyard. Then a stroll into Campo Santa Margherita for spritz and back home for Don’t Look Now on the Apple computer. Bravo Julian. We’ve already booked our next trip.’

‘Julian’s apartment was everything we knew and more. Other reviews have highlighted the same things we would say, all fabulous (especially the location and comfort of the apartment). However, the best advice Julian gave us was to rent and pilot a boat from Brussa is Boat in the Venetian islands. Great company. We got lost, which led to a wonderful adventure. We will never forget that day or our magical time in Venice. We will rent Julian’s apartment the next time we’re in Venice, which we hope is soon.’
